  • Kevin Lagan - Group Chief Executive Officer

    Kevin began working in the family business in the early 1960s. Taking over from his father in 1969, he’s been at the forefront of the Lagan Group ever since. Over the years Kevin has served as Ministerial Appointee to the Board of Belfast International Airport, Belfast Harbour Commissioner, a member of the University of Ulster Foundation, Non–Executive Director and Chairman of UTV’s Remuneration Committee. Kevin was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Ulster in recognition of his contribution to business activities in Northern Ireland.

  • Seán McCann - Group Finance

    Seán started his career at Ernst & Young, Belfast, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990. In 1992, he transferred to Ernst & Young, Luxembourg, before taking on a senior management role within the European Court of Auditors, where he supervised financial reviews across a variety of government policy areas within the EU and central and eastern Europe. Seán returned to Northern Ireland to become Finance Director/Company Secretary of Daewoo Electronics UK, before joining the Lagan Group in 2001.

    Following his graduation from Queens University Belfast, Declan joined KPMG, where he was soon promoted to Audit Manager. He joined Lagan in 1998 as an accountant for the Group’s civil engineering companies, before being promoted to Group Financial Controller. He has served in his current role of Group Company Secretary and Director since 2008.

    A former Managing Partner of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Stephen joined the Lagan Board in 2013. He currently holds a number of non–executive chairman roles, including Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited and Northern Ireland Centre for Competitiveness. In addition he holds a number of non–executive directorships including Dale Farm Limited and United Dairy Farmers Limited.

    Jude joined the family business immediately after graduating from Queens University Belfast in 1987. The early years saw Jude working in a number of roles across the quarrying and asphalt divisions of the Group, based both in Northern Ireland and southeast England. Jude moved back to Ireland in 2000 to manage the building of a new €120M cement manufacturing facility. He was appointed Managing Director of the Group’s cement, concrete and clay division in 2008.

    Mark started his career in 1988 as a graduate trainee Quantity Surveyor with Tarmac Major Projects. In 1997, he joined the Lagan Group as Commercial Manager and became Commercial Director for Charles Brand Ltd. the following year. In 2004, Mark was appointed Managing Director of Whitemountain, overseeing the amalgamation of Whitemountain Surfacing, Whitemountain Quarries and Kennedy Quarries. Lagan Bitumen came under Mark’s direction in 2005 and he was appointed to the Board in 2013. Mark is a member of the council for the Construction Employers Forum (CEF), Northern Ireland and chair of the CEF Civil Engineering Committee. He has also served on the QPA Executive and the Business in the Community Employers Forum.

    Following his graduation from Ulster University Jordanstown, Conor worked as an engineer before making the move to Lagan Homes in 1993. In 2002, he was appointed Managing Director and has overseen the company’s expansion to become one of Northern Ireland’s largest and most successful private housing development companies. Conor is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and the Chartered Institute of Building. He sits on the Construction Employers Federation Private Housing Committee and is a board member of HELM Housing Association.

    After gaining bachelor and masters degrees from University College Dublin and the University of Reading respectively, John started his career as a Chartered Surveyor in London. He joined the English division of Lagan Homes in 2012 and took responsibility for the company a year later. Since then, he has expanded the business under a new strategy focused on private development of standalone sites. In January 2016, John joined the Lagan Board.

    Terry graduated from Queens University Belfast in 1987 and joined Tarmac on their management training programme. He started with Lagan in 1989 as a Contracts Manager at the new Dublin office, before being promoted to General Manager in 1994 and Director of the RoI business in 1997. In 2003 Terry became the Managing Director of the Lagan Asphalt Group – a business he’s seen grow from its initial operations in Ballycoolin to the national and international operation of today.

  • Peter Lagan  - Managing Director

    Lagan Building Solutions

    Peter graduated from the University of Northumbria in 1997 and began his career in the technology sector, working in a number of roles in Dublin and Hong Kong. He returned to Ireland and set up Lagan Building Solutions in 2001, which soon became the market–leading importer of natural slate products. Peter played a key role in Lagan’s acquisition of the Welsh Slate business in 2007.

  • Peter Ballard  - Non–Executive

    Pete joined the Lagan Board in January 2016 after over 40 years in the banking sector – primarily with Royal Bank of Scotland. Throughout his long career, Pete has held a variety of customer–facing and senior managerial roles in corporate banking, working in London, New York, Dublin and Belfast.
